Exhibition duration: August 11 - August 24, 2024This series examines a widespread phenomenon that emerged in the second half of the 20th century: the advertising of products based on what they do not contain. Inspired by the ideas of Jacques Lacan and Slavoj Žižek, this exhibition explores the ‚advertisement of absence‘ as a form of language that highlights our deficiencies and proposes direct replacements. Viewers are invited to ponder the concept of absence, while exploring the power of direct substitution in contemporary consumer culture.

Viktória Heiser's artworks aim to visually captivate viewers while engaging them in analytical exploration. Heiser is particularly intrigued by themes such as the processes of human thought and the roles of language and symbolism. Throughout her body of work, Heiser explores human perception and behavior, predominantly through the mediums of Videoart and performance. 

Viktória Heiser // Born in Bratislava, Slovakia, in 1998, Viktória Heiser began her studies at the School of Applied Arts Josefa Vydru Bratislava, where she pursued her education from 2014 to 2018. She subsequently continued her studies at the HfBK - University of Fine Arts in Dresden, Germany, under the guidance of Nevin Aladağ, and completed her diploma in 2023.
